Accessibility

Effective 6 September 2026 · Last updated 9 September 2026

We want SiteStock to be usable by everyone on a construction team, including people who use a keyboard only, a screen reader, screen magnification, voice control, or need larger text and higher contrast.

1. What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA – the standard referenced by the UK Equality Act 2010 and the EU's harmonised standard EN 301 549. SiteStock is a single evolving app rather than a set of fixed pages, and it has not yet had a full independent audit, so we cannot claim it meets that standard everywhere. This statement lists what has been built and tested and what still falls short.

2. What currently works

  • Every screen can be reached and operated with the keyboard alone, and the keyboard focus outline is always visible.
  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing the keyboard reaches, and it moves focus into the main content.
  • When you move between screens, focus moves to the new screen and its name is announced to screen readers; the browser tab title updates too.
  • Text and interface colours have been checked for contrast against WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text, controls and focus outlines).
  • Every form field has a label. Errors and confirmations are shown in text and announced to screen readers.
  • Buttons and links are real buttons and links with clear text. Decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
  • Where a tab strip or a set of choice buttons has a selected option, that selection is exposed to assistive technology and shown with more than colour alone.
  • Pop-up dialogs move focus into the dialog, keep the keyboard inside it, close on Escape, and return focus to the control that opened them.
  • The layout reflows to a single column on small screens and at up to 400% zoom, with no horizontal scrolling and no loss of content.
  • Text zoom and increased text spacing are supported; the page is never blocked from being zoomed.
  • If you have “reduce motion” set in your operating system, animations and transitions are switched off.
  • The one type of image in the app – a driver’s delivery photo – carries alternative text.
  • Links that open in a new tab say so.

3. Known limitations

  • The tabbed sections (for example the order tabs) are ordinary buttons. They work with Tab and Enter and announce which one is selected, but do not yet support left/right arrow-key movement or announce a “tab” role.
  • A few status changes that happen live (for example a new order arriving through the real-time connection) update on screen but are not always announced.
  • Focus management in dialogs and the notification panel has not been tested against every screen reader and browser combination.
  • The app has had only limited testing with voice-control software.
  • No full independent audit has been carried out yet.

We are working through these and will update this statement as they are fixed.

4. Tell us about a problem

If something stops you using SiteStock, or you need information in a different format, email arcooreacc@gmail.com with a short description of the problem, the screen you were on, and the assistive technology or browser you use. We aim to reply within 5 working days and will try to give you the information or function you need another way in the meantime.

5. Your rights and how to escalate

In the UK, the Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments so disabled people can use their services, including websites and apps. In the EU, the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) sets accessibility requirements for services of this kind. If you contact us and are not satisfied with our response, UK users can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at www.equalityadvisoryservice.com; EU users can contact the accessibility enforcement body in their country.
